Extended Tamar Valley Scenic

Stunning river views, wineries and a glimpse of Bass strait.

From Launceston Airport we start our climb towards Mount Arthur where on days with good weather you can enjoy 360 degree views over North- and Central Tasmania.

From the many coloured fields with its vineyards on the other side of Mount Arthur to the Tamar Valley below you, the views will be taking your breath away.

From Mount Arthur we track towards the Cataract Gorge via Tamar Island reserve, which is Launceston’s biggest attraction. Take a picture of the original Duck Reach Power Station (1895) which put Launceston on the maps being one of the first cities in Australia to be connected to the permanent grid.

Experience a bird's eye view over the Launceston CBD with stunning views over Mount Arthur, Mount Barrow and Ben Lomond to the East and the “Western Tiers” (including Cradle Mountain on clear days) to the West before we head back to Launceston Airport for landing.
